Personally, I remember it like it was yesterday, BECAUSE IT WAS. Heck I have a gripe about representation in gaming scheduled for 4:30 this afternoon. But I might cancel it because Raji: An Ancient Epic is on Kickstarter right now
“Raji An Ancient Epic is an action adventure game set in ancient India. Raji, a young girl is chosen by the gods to fight against the demonic invasion of the human realm. Her destiny is to rescue her younger brother and face the demon lord Mahabalasura”
Read that again if you need to, just soak that up. And look at how beautiful
“oh but that’s just concept art the real game won’t look that good” WRONG! Go and look at the [demo playthrough on Youtube], or play the free demo and see how beautiful for yourself, you can get it on [Steam] or [itch.io] or [indiedb] RIGHT NOW.
Can’t be bothered with that? Here’s some actual screencaps.
“I prefer PoC stories told by PoC themselves” well you’re in luck friend, that’s exactly what this is.
And you can get in on this for as little as £16 (around $20). Comparable AAA titles cost $60, and even comparable Indie titles cost $30-40. That’s a steal my friends, that’s a bargain.
Disclosure: I am not affiliated with this project, and I have backed it.
I am not receiving any compensation or reward for this post, I back a lot of things on Kickstarter that I don’t post about, but this is such an incredible project I felt motivated to share it. I hope you’ll love it and share it too.
on that front, I should note that the designers have specifically based the character’s outfit on the real clothing Rajasthani girls of her age & background wear while performing acrobatics, and also based her movement and fighting style on the associated acrobatic techniques, so while it’s not armor as such it’s deliberately designed to be practical, realistic, and historically accurate, so yeah that’s probably relevant to babd (who I love but can’t tag for some reason)
Three years ago today, I opened a little space on the internet. It would take me on a wild ride across the country, meeting people who I’ve come to hold very close to my heart, and fighting for visibility in an industry that too often ignored and outright harassed entire swaths of fans and developers alike. We’ve accomplished so much since then.
I say we because none of FemHype’s success would have been possible without you, the crew that came together — stayed together — and formed an absolutely incredible community that I’m deeply humbled to have been part of. You taught me so much, and for that, I can’t begin to thank you enough. Each and every one of you is so important to me. Thank you for existing. Thank you for fighting. And thank you for being you.
I know this sounds like a goodbye, and it is — sort of.
We’re very excited to tell you that Before the Storm’s bonus episode “Farewell” will be releasing in early 2018 and in even more exciting news; Hannah Telle and Ashly Burch will be returning to play Max and Chloe! As you are all aware, Ashly has been working with the writing team at Deck Nine and we’re ecstatic that she will be returning to play the role of young Chloe.
Rhianna DeVries has done a fantastic job for the voice and motion capture of 16 year old Chloe so far, bringing a little bit of herself to the role, just as Ashly had in the previous game. We are forever thankful to Rhianna for the work she has put into Before the Storm and she will continue to work with us for the motion capture of young Chloe in Farewell.
As a reminder, in the Deluxe Edition’s exclusive bonus episode ‘Farewell’ you will be playing as a young Max Caulfield and this may very well be the last time that you will get to see Max and Chloe together! Unfortunately as much as we’d like to, we can’t say much more about it just now as the team is focused on completing the final stages of polish for episode three, the finale of Before the Storm.
Thanks to everyone who donated or bought from my shop, I’m 1/3 of the way to the $900 goal for my mobility scooter repairs. It was recently damaged and needs the front wheel replaced as well as a new battery. I’m working as hard as I can to get it fixed ASAP. Every little bit I can put towards the goal counts, thank y'all so much!

Baldur’s Gate occupies a place at the crossroads of video gaming, tabletop gaming, and gaming nostalgia. Obviously it’s attracted the worst elements from all of these communities. It’s also meant that a friend has faced days of harassment.
I’m not asking that you buy this game—though, that couldn’t hurt. Rather, please, lend Beamdog your support, your kind words, your appreciation for helping to make gaming more inclusive, and a reminder that adding LGBTQ content to a game wins more than public hate, harassment, and toxic reviews.
We’ve moved our Annual Fund Raiser to Go Fund Me since IndieGoGo wasn’t very helpful and takes a month to pay out funds raised. We’ve also reduced the goal because of a couple generous donations send directly via PayPal.
This is our annual campaign to help with costs, as the non-profit part of running a non-profit means that it’s a lean, sometimes operating on a string and a hope kind of operation.
Anything you can give is appreciated and help keeps us running!
